Holly Day and Dana Zimmer joined us in late April for an Alice in Wonderland themed shoot. Originally planned to be shot outdoors, the unpredictable Portland weather forced us inside and made it necessary to do some quick re-story boarding and this is the end result...
As January comes to a close I realize that the blog page has been neglected lately. I've been busy filling up my schedule shooting, plotting, and planning the future. I just want to say thank you to all of you who follow this page or my social media feeds. I am truly grateful for all of you being part of this adventure with me. Thank you!
The Vixens of Horror are a group of very unique, extremely talented, beautiful, and passionate women. They share common interests of everything creepy. These women are professionals with experience in the entertainment industry modeling, with fashion, dance, and film. They have an ever growing love for the darker side of reality.
I feel so very fortunate to be a part of their journey. Look for them on movie, television, and computer screens in the near future. 2015 is going to be Epic!

Shot in our Portland studio, Talia worked for over two hours on her Sugar Skull makeup for this Día de Muertos inspired photoshoot. Bumbershoot 2014 is a fading memory and most of the images are edited. I can say that we had a great time taking in a wide spectrum of musical styles, comedy, film, and stage performances. I'm proud to collaborate with my wife Mandy to bring the Portland Pinups Collection 2014 to market. Featuring some of our favorite pinup images I've taken over the past year, they are available as a collectable set of guitar picks, or in pairs as guitar pick earrings. Deviants Carclub puts on one of my favorite shows of the season. Held in downtown Vancouver, WA it hosts some of the coolest hot rods and best bands of the summer.
Summer is the time for car shows and Portland's Rose City Round-Up is one of it's biggest. Classic cars, bikes, and trucks abound along with great music throughout the day and night.
Wow, since my last post in mid May about opening the Portland studio, it's been a little overwhelming to say the least! We've been working with some wonderful people and attended many great events so far this summer. Unfortunately, this blog is the one thing that's been put on the back burner. The next few posts will highlight a few of the events we've attended, places we've visited, and people we've photographed. Moving forward, I'll be posting more frequently about our activities.

I'm pleased to announce that effective April 1st, 2014 we will now be able to offer our clients a Portland studio location in addition to our SW Washington studio. As always, location shoots remain a favorite of both our clients and myself, but living here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, weather isn't always on our side and the option to shoot in a professional studio is an added benefit. The new studio is just down the street from OMSI and affords easy access, street parking, and is available 24/7 so we can work around any scheduling challenges.
I had a meeting with Greg Nibler and Sarah X Dylan of Funemployment Radio! this evening to finalize the details for our photo shoot giveaway. It looks like Amanda, of Amanda Fox Styles, and I are going to join Greg and Sarah this coming Monday the 24th on the Podcast. We decided the winner will be the first person to both like the D. Leonidas Photography Facebook page and provide the correct answer to a secret trivia question we offer up during the show.

I spent last Monday with the crew from Funemployment Radio! doing a photo shoot, both in their studio and after a little trek to the old abandoned Taylor Electric building in SE Portland, out amidst some of the best street art in the Northwest. This started out as a mission to get a few head shots, but morphed into a really fun afternoon. Amanda Fox, of Amanda Fox Styles, took care of everyone's hair and makeup, and as always endeared herself to everyone in the room. I think we captured some great images of both the hosts, Greg Nibler and Sarah X Dylan. Studio stuff is great, but nothing beats shooting on location in a really cool space!!
